Student Testimonials
PACE helped me to foster a growth mindset, providing the opportunities and resources to continue to challenge myself intellectually and in my extracurricular activities. The teachers and administrators in the PACE program exhibit an unparalleled commitment to their students that taught me the value of mentorship, and leaves me to continue to point to my time at Poly as formative.

PACE prepared me extremely well for college, and for intellectual pursuits in general. The skills of research, analysis, and critical thinking PACE helped me develop are extraordinarily useful in the college classroom. PACE also helped me out more than I expected outside of a school setting as well, especially with Jeopardy. For example, I got a $2k question with the answer, “Things Fall Apart” because I read the book for Ms. Floto’s 9th Grade English Class. PACE quite literally helped me make money!

Class of 2016
I'm a proud PACE alumna, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities the program provided. The access to advanced coursework is unparalleled, and the stellar teachers inspired me to push myself and think big. My AP Chemistry teacher, for example, is the person who encouraged me to pursue a PhD. Through her, I was able to participate in a biomedical clinical research program at Cedars Sinai, along with a small group of other PACE students. Working side by side with physician scientists on actual medical research is an experience almost unheard of for high school students.

Going into the program, I had some hesitations because Poly PACE has a reputation as not only rigorous but overwhelming. I was worried that it would take over my free time. Yet my experience has been completely different. The classes are much more interesting than in middle school, and the amount of work is very manageable. Poly is known as the “Home of Scholars and Champions,” and I truly have been able to combine academics and sports. I run both cross country and track and field, and I have six practices a week.

After Poly PACE I moved up to the Bay Area to study at Stanford University. I started my major in Bioengineering and minor in Ethics in Society. Stanford is harder than what I had faced with PACE, but PACE provided me the foundation to be able to balance seemingly impossible tasks. It is also because of PACE that I felt comfortable pursuing an array of topics both with my degrees and with my extra tasks. I’ve had to work harder than I have before but I can hold my own because of the community that Poly offered me.

Class of 2019
As a University professor who has worked with top graduates from various national and international high schools for many years, I can attest to the high quality of Poly PACE graduates who have surpassed many national merit scholars and have shown time and time again to have incredible problem-solving skills that many university students are lacking.

Class of 2002
Going into the program, I had some hesitations because Poly PACE has a reputation as not only rigorous but overwhelming.
