dr makeda robinson

Dr. Makeda Robinson grew up in Long Beach, CA and attended LB Poly high school before studying public health at Johns Hopkins University. She, then, went on to earn her MD and PhD from Stanford University School of Medicine. Additionally, she is a recipient of a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Fellowship and is a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar. Dr. Robinson’s research has taken her around the world where she studied malaria treatments in Ethiopia and traditional Chinese and Western Medicine approaches in China. Currently, Dr. Robinson is studying virus-host interactions in emerging viruses at Stanford University, and she is working to spread evidence-based information about COVID-19 through her column, “Ask an Expert,” in Verywell Health --an award-winning online health resource. Furthermore, Dr. Robinson has commented on current issues surrounding the response to COVID-19 in major media outlets including CNBC, USA Today, Healthline, and Good+Well.
