Poly Rabbotics Team 7042

About the team

Established in 2017 at LB Poly HS by PACE students.

Poly Rabbotics is a student-led team that designs its own robot and competes in the national FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our team’s purpose is to build an interactive community where students can explore the various paths of STEM while developing teamwork and communication skills. Currently, our team consists of 30 students and five mentors.

The FIRST Robotics Competition is an international program dedicated to engaging and inspiring young people to become involved in STEM-related fields. For more information regarding our specific competition event, please visit https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc.

On the engineering side of the team, we have divisions in mechanical, electrical, programming, and CAD. Come learn the various components to a robot, and design different subsystems to carry out unique functions. In addition, you can learn how to use tools and machines such as drills, saws, 3D printers, and more. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in STEM, Poly Rabbotics offers a great opportunity to work within a team to collaborate, design, build, and problem-solve!

Aside from building a robot, you can gain experience in team operations through divisions including marketing, media, art/merchandise, and financials. On the marketing side, we bring STEM into our community by engaging in a variety of different partnerships and collaborations in the City of Long Beach, and throughout the FIRST Robotics Competition. For example, we lead STEM workshops at local schools, showcase our robot at events like science fairs or youth demos, and provide members with insight into careers in STEM. Through this, you can work on activities such as social media advertising and engagement, financial organization, and graphic design.
